Mw came out yesterday, my legs have swollen to my knees, had 1+ protein and bps back up again, she left me yesterday but came again today and still up so sent me to hospital

They took 3 bp readings highest of which was 162/89 and lowest 143/79 (i booked at 110/70) and monitored awen. Pee was clear and they didnt look at my legs or ask about the pain in top of my bump. Forgot to mention that too as trying to remember so many other damn things

Anyway doc came round hour and half later took my hisotry from mw about the previous pre ec and said bps were up but ok and wrote the lowest one down in my notes, still didnt look at legs. Wandered off to answer his beeper then came back and asked for my history again. Asked if had headaches or visual disturbances and when i said yes to vision didnt write it down just said ok its probably fine you can go home. Gptta go back tommorrow for more bp readings and to get blood results

How big a waste of time? Now gotta get care for c a 2nd day running. I was ther elong enough that if they had done the bloods when i 1st got there the lab cudda processed em befor ei left but they did them before i left. So prob back tommorrow for nowt again.

Mind you did get to find out about my g/diabetes follow up. Apparently was meant to have been seen within 1st fortnight and its been something like 18 days now with no appt so at least someone will speak to me about it tommorrow though only cos i asked.

Poor you. I went through this with my first pregnancy, my bp was always up and I was constantly having blood tests etc and given meds to lower bp so I know how you feel Hun. I hope u get some answers tomorrow x

suggest you do this to the docs and MWs tomorrow if they are as shit as ever.

Its a pain in the arse being monitored isnt it. Every other afternoon at least in the last 4 wks of pg i had to sit in maternity like a knob waiting for bp to go down. peed me off as it always fecking did go back down but they wouldnt let me go until it did/bloods came back clear. I used to go and be 170/110 and by tea time id maybe be 142/89 and could go. My bug bear was the fact that clearly lying in bed made it go down.... so if they would fecking stop making me drive to hospital every day it wouldnt go up in the 1st place.

Only good thing was it got me induced on dd so no waiting about, and I suppose its better to be monitored than something be missed.

With your history though and visual disturbances you would think they would listen more about swelling! Your care sounds crap tbh. Hope you get good results tomorrow xxx

Well went back for my appt today.

The midwifery sister was on today and she was a star. Urine had no protein in it and bp down to 80-81 on the lower number from 86-89 so mild improvement. Apparently the bloods they did yesterday showed the markers for pre eclampsia are in the normal range but only just, they are the high end of normal so they took more blood today to check if they are rising or falling.

Remembered to mention the pain in my bump and raging indigestion (worse in last few days) today and that the leg swelling is now nearly over my knees. The mw sister said she thinks im heading the same way as last time eg the pre eclampsia but shes hoping it will be milder and they will act on it quicker this time as they are keeping my history in mind and just hopefully will get to 38 weeks without it taking off like last time but til then i need to be checked over and over.

She also said Awen had done a back flip today and seemed to have her head up under my ribs and her ass down so breech as she was monitoring the heart rate right up high but she was head down the other day so hopefully will just flip back as apparently shes a right busy one according to the monitor (cudda told her that for free). If not wont matter cos am having a section anyway but that cud be why i get such a big lump under my ribs and so much top of bump pain but she also says it cud be a pre ec sign esp as the indigestion and reflux is worse which was a sig i had last time when it started getting worse so to keep an eye on it and if im worried at all to phone them straight away and she will get me in and checked.

Anyway i have to go back monday for more bp readings and monitoring of awen and to see if the bloods have gone up/down and possibly more bloods. So looks like me 31st birthday gonna be spent being poked with needles and such lol. However, i cant complain too much as it was nice not to be passed of as neurotic for a change.

Did say to my mum though why is it only midwives ever seem to listen, all the way through with C i knew something was wrong and only my midwife listened to me and everytime she sent me to the hosp i was passed off by a doc and sent away until it all went as wrong as it did. This time round all the way thru ive been worried about it again and again only my midwife and today this midwifery sister are actually listening to the things i tell em. The mw sister told me today ive got a good insight into whats going on with me and to listen to it and call her/DAU or my own mw if im even slightly worried yet every doc i see thinks im a neurotic bint. Maybe i just like em cos they are essentially nurses but for pregnant women so they think like i do lol.

Anyways will see what happens monday with bloods/bp/pee and in meantime she said to keep doing my bp at home either daily or if i feel crud and to test my own pee every few days and can reduce my blood sugar testing to every few days too, keep an eye on the pain in my side and bump/the heartburn/swelling (etc etc etc yawn) and in meantime hopefully awen will cook a bit longer and nothing will escalate too much.
