Its probably a dumb question! I dont think iv ever been to one, but iv saw churches near us have them sometimes. Can anyone turn up on the day with a car full of stuff? Do you need to bring a table? How much is it to set up your pitch roughly? Im just looking round at all the toys Caitlin never plays with and thinking of the money I could make. I prob wont sell anything until I find out sex of this baby (if I get to that is ). I have boxes of clothes too and jewellery, unopened gift sets etc from xmas, etc . Anyone do them and make much money? I cant be arsed with ebay/fb pages as Im too lazy to package and post things and keep track of online payments etc. Could put larger items on gumtree but not really worth it for small toys, 1 off bits of clothing etc. Any one any experience/thoughts?

seriously though , some sales want you to buy pitch before sale some allow you to pay on day take your own table , we use a wallpaper pasting table you can make a good whack of money, havea price in mind before you go for items or get tonguetied when someone asks price lol remember bring change and poly bags x x x

and we usually pay between 5 and 8 quid for our pitch if selling clothes i recommend taking a clothes rail to show them rather than ppl rummaging through a box or messing up your table x

^^^^^^ True. And be prepared to deal with skanky people. I did it once and by the end of the day was so fed up of being haggled on 10-20p items i told one woman just to take what she wanted and *$%£ off

Fiver a pitch doesnt sound too bad. Dont think I could fit a table in my 106 so id need to find one that provided them. Duno how you can fit a clothes rail, wallpaper table and items to sell in your car Michelle??? Lol mario! I hadnt even thought about haggling. Id probably cave to easily and sell my stuff cheaper than I wanted. I'l try and go to one in the next few weeks to suss them out! Like Lisa il probably come home with stuff I dont need... but il kid myself its investing in stock for when I do my 1st one as a seller

i have a scenic , a wallpaper table folded down is not so big and it sits upright in the back footwell a clothes rail from argos breaks down to poles a flask of tea or coffee always comes in handy get there as early as possible for decent spot and then watch the vultures in about your stuff/boot before you have even set up ! boot sales can be lots of fun though , im like lisa though , i have went a walk round and spent loads of my earnings

I used to do them loads with my mum when I was little. Her tips are to price everything up the day before you go. Because what you actually want for something and the price you say you want when your confronted by people is very different. always add a little to the price stickers so if you wanted a fiver for something Id put 6 and be prepared to be haggled down. don't do it on your own, in the morning (as soon as you get there!) people are there looking for bargains, you can't set up AND deal with these people (this is where havin thigns pre priced up helps too) you need change, and bags, patience and to be firm with people. If they really want what you are selling they will pay the price don't let them haggle you down too much.
