| Do any of you have/recommend these? I had a microwave one with Milo which was fine, but in our new house we're having my mum's old microwave, which is fine but about 20 years old, so not sure I trust it completely with baby things. So I was thinking about an electric steam steriliser, are they any good? The Philips Avent one is on sale at about £22, Babies r us own brand is also pretty cheap.. |

| yep we have one.....cant remember the name and too lazy to look but it has a 3 min cycle which was great for speed - hasn't been used immensly (for bowls etc at start of weaning i still use it now out of habit , for a few bottles while combined feeding and dummies whenever we have tried those) but found it great. |

| Thanks! It sounds like they're pretty good then Do you reckon I'd have any trouble using Tommee Tippee anti-colic bottles (probably the smallest ones) in the Avent? I think they're a bit wider than avent bottles, but it holds 6 and I'll probably only use it for 3 TT bottles at a time |

| I think most sterilisers you can use any btls in provided you accept you might not be able to get as many in. Even at that our steriliser is TT and so where our btls but you could only fit 4 in, not the 6 like it shows you on the box- maybe they redesigned the btls, god knows!
Yes def descale it, you can get sachets of descaling stuff from boots. I loved my electric TT steriliser but think im going to replace it for this LO. I didnt descale it as often as I prob should have and a few times I started it without putting the water in and it burnt a bit at the bottom so looks a bit manky!
I had a microwave one to for taking to MILs ect but I hated it as I burnt my hands all the flaming time. |

| i liked our tt one cos you can take the shelves out http://www.babycottage.com/catalog/product/gallery/id/1659/image/1907/ and that makes loads of room to fit a couple of breast pumps in - if it's just for bottles i think they are fairly universal but if you need to put other stuff in its probably worth having a look and a tinker before you choose |
